April 10, 2019 online meeting minutes

present: Sergey Boyarinov, vpk, Nathan, Eugene, Stepan,Ben, Rafo

1. RG-A status

• no TI "more then 7 words" errors during last 2 weeks, will try to reproduce it on high event rate after the run

• hallbcam08 needs occasional blip/recycle, may buy new camera (see below), Nathan will decide what to do

• hardware helicity correction board will be ready soon, also doing level3 correction and will do it offline

• few spare boards still needed (some jlab-made custom boards)

• HV mainframes hardware resets will be implemented (Ben, Nathan, Armen)

• for next few years DAQ/Trigger performance is good enough; trigger can be improved with multi prone tracks and neutral trigger; future can be with free running (streaming) daq

2. Equipment purchase list

• new 4-head desktops for counting room with TV 4K support (4 times more powerful)

• 2 big tv screen for counting room

• new fileserver for counting room

• replacement for bethsw network switches in the hall, other network equipment (media converters, network cards etc)

• desktops in the hall ?

• VME CPUs to replace older ones

• two new whiteboards or a big one (Mauri) - Stepan will look at that

• replace furniture that has the magnets computers to match the remaining stuff (Mauri)

• add pantry for the food. Very unprofessional on the table (Mauri)

• VTP  ?

• climate control sensors

3. HPS preparations

• DAQ test setup is operational in SLAC, Ryan installed SVT readout prototype communicating to TIpcie card, 2 crate setup is running, both SVT readout lists are ready, 50kHz test was successful, working on finalizing data format; data so far is emulation, no real SVT connected yet

• no FADC compression (FDAC estimated as 30%, not much gain from it)

• trigger: GTP->VTP transition finished, hodoscope is in progress; in about 2 weeks Ben will be done with first trigger revision; in a meanwhile we'll discuss needed triggers more detaily (Stepan, Valery, Kail - montecarlo simulation

• Rafo preparing 2 PMT with scintillators, will be used to test trigger - end of April/ beginning of May

• SLAC will ship everything beginning of May

• need 2 more FADC for hodoscope, restore some scalers etc
