1. DAQ/Trigger for current run

  • FADC packing and decoding: after getting approval from Ed all FADCs in the hall were upgraded with new firmware containing compression, cosmic data looks good so at least non-compressed data in new firmware are processed correctly; files were taken with and without compression, offline team is working (Carl Timmer, Gagik) to fix evio and make appropriate changes to decoder; as soon as we have beam in hall, we'll take data with and without FADC compression and see how much we saved in data rate; FADC compressed bank will not have event number and time stamp, ROL2 will make sure they all consistent with TI and remove them
  • Trigger validation: since last run 2 changes we made to trigger - VTP readout and DC road finding; Valery and Ben prepared several files for trigger validation and production running, currently DC logic being tested on cosmic data; when beam is available, 2 shifts will be dedicated for trigger validation
CND VTP still not installed, Ben will fix 2 remaining broken VTPs so we can equip CND and have one spare; Andrea still developing logic where CND can participate, depending on his recommendations CND trigger component will be adjusted and incorporated
adcftof5vtp seems has problem, probably bad resistor, will check; TI timestamp consistency check will be added to EB
  • BAND status: one crate with 7 FADCs, 1 SDC, 1 v1190 and 8 DSC2s is installed, one FADC seems have a problem, work in progress
  • new route to tape: Sergey reported about meeting when Chip Watson where new SSD-based system was announced to move data to tape with maximum bandwidth for HallB 350MB/sec, and about Sergey's complain to Rolf about that limitation; Graham described following meeting with Chip, Amber and Rolf where that issue was discussed; it looks like that limit is rate to tape, rate to SSD system is much higher but SSD size is small (about 20+TB); Stepan pointed out that we have to measure our new data rate with beam after all changes we made this summer, and present it as HallB requirements defined by physics, will do that
  • RF signals fixed by Stepan and Sergey, Raffaella confirmed they looks good in TDCs, some work for FADCs still needed, probably on software side; Chris is building new board
