* datafile containing DVCS raw data was created and passed to Ben
Following progress was made since meeting last week:

* Ben: threshold 50 (adjustable), event display, hits per cluster 3 (adjustable), window 3x3, bigger or variable requires more space in FPGA; Ben will run good file through with different 50 and 3, make 2DIM plot, get efficiency, then process all data and get rejection; simple tool for simple logic ??
* datafile containing DVCS raw data was created by Rustam and Sergey and passed to Ben

* got quotation for 2 more v895 discriminators, will be ordered
* Ben made event display to present and control cluster reconstruction process using Altera simulation tools; it has to adjustable parameters: single channel threshold (the same for all channels, was set to 50) and minimum number of hits per cluster (was set to 3); cluster finding window has fixed size 3x3 towers (bigger or variable size winow requires more space in FPGA); future plan includes processing good file with different parameters, making 2DIM plots, geting efficiency, then processing all data and geting rejection

* hodoscope - 60 channels: v895's for them (good to have drawing in a couple of month, may add to the same trigger system or external and coinside later using )
* we discussed how much regular user have to learn anout v1495 programming; it maybe good idea to learn Altera graphic tool which allows to assemble simple logic from prepared components

* borrow v1495 asap
* we've got quotation for 2 more v895 discriminators from CAEN, they will be ordered

* we talked very preliminary about hodoscope, which will be located in front of DVCS calorimeter and have about 60 channels; v895's  discriminators and v1495's logic units must be purchased for that device; it will be good to have hodoscope drawing in a couple of months, we may consider to add hodoscope outputs to the DVCS trigger system

* we'll try to borrow one more v1495 from Hall A for 2-board testing

DVCS Trigger System

Following progress was made since meeting last week:

  • datafile containing DVCS raw data was created by Rustam and Sergey and passed to Ben
  • Ben made event display to present and control cluster reconstruction process using Altera simulation tools; it has to adjustable parameters: single channel threshold (the same for all channels, was set to 50) and minimum number of hits per cluster (was set to 3); cluster finding window has fixed size 3x3 towers (bigger or variable size winow requires more space in FPGA); future plan includes processing good file with different parameters, making 2DIM plots, geting efficiency, then processing all data and geting rejection
  • we discussed how much regular user have to learn anout v1495 programming; it maybe good idea to learn Altera graphic tool which allows to assemble simple logic from prepared components
  • we've got quotation for 2 more v895 discriminators from CAEN, they will be ordered
  • we talked very preliminary about hodoscope, which will be located in front of DVCS calorimeter and have about 60 channels; v895's discriminators and v1495's logic units must be purchased for that device; it will be good to have hodoscope drawing in a couple of months, we may consider to add hodoscope outputs to the DVCS trigger system
  • we'll try to borrow one more v1495 from Hall A for 2-board testing

Projects

  • 2eSST test for v1190/v1290 started in the Hall, ec4 equiped with mvme6100
  • new ET installed, everything looks good so far; et_2_et has new option direct for communication between machines which are not sharing any subnets
  • old CAEN sy527 mainframes in LAC area are included into new EPICS (Sergey B., Nerses, Hovanes); some troubles communicating with v288 CAENET controller; will run for a while to get experience

TODO:

  • HV in wolfram area need remote control (serial ?)
  • include LAC into old EPICS GUIs
  • ioc reboot/heartbeat buttons
  • fix fan in mainframe 1 in LAC (Tom Carstens)
  • send sy257 which just arrived fro repair back to repair (who is tracking them ?)

G9-FROST preparations

  • CED for new TOFs
  • online recsis (Eugene, Jerry)
  • DC pulser run
  • ADBs, level2 check (Chris)
  • pedestal run (soft fixed) (netonpmc etc - automatically !!)
  • TDC, TOF laser, EC calibration runs
  • new SILO directory 'g9a'
  • fix list of logbook receivers (run coordinator, PDL - what time periods ?): DAN PDL, Eugene run coord
  • trigger: single sector TOFxST with and without Level2 (sector-based); norm trigger sync 1 only (grom g13_norm)

copy from g8b

  • helicity correction: fix error around flip
  • before and during the run we'll use G9-FROST page to store information related to the DAQ/Online systems
  • new EPICS channels from target, list will come from Eugene; check existing list for availability, add new if necessary

fast and long injection

  • run starts Oct 23 (commissioning for 6 days)
