1. RG-A run preparations
- RG-A starts March 19 or 20 with few hours switch time
- target will be changed from D2 to H2, probably around midnight from 19 to 20 of March, plan will be discussed
- no other configuration changes expected expect trigger
- trigger for RGA: restore fall conditions: 3 triggers with FTCAL, HODO, CTOF; and probably add CND geometrically matched with CTOF
- all fiber required connected already, or will be connected in next downtime before March 19, no other hardware changes are required
- firmware change is required to central SSP only where CTOF and CND will be connected by fibers, Ben will change firmware and Andrea will prepare recommendations for CTOFxCND coincidence and decide later, initially CND will be in tagging mode
- Ben and Valery will prepare trigger file(s) for RG-A
- for RG-A and also for current RG-B, special trigger file will be prepared for running from Faraday Cap with beam blocker removed; beam will be 20min run 50nA with 2 or 4 rescale factor, then several hours 10nA without prescale
2. HPS run work
- run starts June 17, we have time between April 15 and June 17 to install and test everything
- started to use TIpcie and discovered that it works in clondaq6 only (and some older machines), R440 and R740 for example were incompatible (ether BIOS/iDRAC hung or Linux crash accessing TIpcie registers); William Gu and Bryan Moffit spend more then a week debugging it, Paul Letta was involved communicating with DELL and providing R740 for testing; finally firmware bug was found and fixed in TIpcie card, which allows to use it in R440 and R740 DELL servers; another problem related to BIOS (or iDRAC) incompatibility still remains but it is not critical (having two problems was the reason for long debugging)
- after TIpcie card firmware was fixed, CODA was tested in test0(master VME TI) - R440(slave TIpcie) configuration, all software sent to SLAC including new TIpcie firmware and driver, waiting for response; if firmware cannot be upgraded in SLAC they will send card to us
- both GTPs were replaced with VTPs, Ben started to work on new trigger firmware, should be ready by April 15
- GTP diagnostic will be moved to VTP, scalers will be inside VTP instead of external DSC2, ActiveMQ will be used for all scalers reporting including FADCs
- have to make sure ECAL signals does not exceed 2V FADC range; will be 4GeV this time and probably 6GeV in future
- trigger testing can start when hodoscope installed which may happens not early then June 1, because SVT have to go first
