The exceptional performance of the Model 1544 and Model 1547 is achieved through the com- bination of vacuum tube high voltage capability with sophisticated semiconductor techniques common in low voltage systems.
An order of magnitude improvement in operating parameters is achieved with the replacement of all vacuum tubes except for the "series regula- tor" by a temperature stabilized silicon transis- tor amplifier and solid state voltage references.
Fast acting electronic overload protection* per- mits continuous operation without damage into a short circuit. Function is automatically re- stored upon fault clearance.
