GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Model 5408 is a single-width module for generating 8 output voltages. The standard output is 0 to 10 volts at a maximum of5 mA. A 12-bit register is provided for eacch channel. Each register can be written and read from the dataway. Strap options are provided so that the output range of each channel can be changed in the field to 0 to +5V, ±10V, ±5V, or ±2.5V, independent of the setting of the other channels. The data is 2's complementary and right-justified (the LSB is written from dataway line W1). Settling time of the output to within 1/2 LSB is less than 4 µsec. The non-linearity is less than «1/2 LSB. The output impedence is less than 50 m ohms and the outputs are short-circuit proof. Adjustments are provided for the zero and gain of each channel. Outputs go to the auxilliary 36-pin edge connector.

Optional front panel connectors are available.
